So much to do, So little time!

I have been so unbelievably busy since I started school. It's crazy how much time I DON'T have. I love school, though. I'm really enjoying it! I just hate having to go straight to work right after school :(.

27. Visit Antonio and his family in Arizona.
70. Do something new with my hair.

Anyway, Taylor and I went to visit Antonio and his family over Labor Day weekend. It was so hot, so it made it hard to find things to do. I was really great to see me niece and nephew, though. They're so big! The last time I saw Rocco, he wasn't even a year old yet, and now he's walkin' and talkin' and all crazy. I wish I got to see them more often.

Yesterday, I went to go get my hair done. For the past few months I've been dying my own hair at home because I couldn't afford to go to my lady to do, but since I've been wanting to do something new, I made sure to have some money to go see her. We decided to do red highlights, and it came out awful. :( I didn't have the heart to tell her that I hated it. I guess the hair dye I was using at home is extremely hard to strip and/or color over, so the only color that came out was where my natural hair had grown in. It looks completely messed up because it's weaved. I think having just the roots colored wouldn't be so bad if it was solid instead of weaved. I think I'm going to go back in a few weeks and have her fix it. I'm actually pretty shocked she still charged me full price even though it didn't come out right....

San Diego Zoo & Dave 'n Buster's

19. Visit the SD Zoo.
32. Take Taylor out to dinner.

Last weekend was my turn to go down to Oceanside. Taylor worked on Saturady, but he was supposed to be home by about 4:30, so I got to his house about a quarter to 3. He didn't end up getting home til 7! I was so annoyed by the time he finally got home. I hate that his schedule at his job is always up in the air. I swear he has to sign his soul away to that place in order to get a job offer. Doesn't matter what day or what time of day it is, he's always expected to be free to work. Ugh!
Anyway, when he finally got home, we decided to have dinner at Buca di Beppo where he poured his beer all over my lap! I was so shocked and confused, all I could do was laugh hysterically. He's sipping on his beer one second, the next second it's all over MY lap! I really could not understand how it ended up on my lap and nothing on him! So I walked out of the restaurant looking like I peed all the way down my pants.

The next day, we were debating on either going to the horse races or the SD Zoo. Obviously, we decided to go to the zoo and the horse races another day. To my knowledge, I've never been to the SD Zoo, so I was really into it. The gorillas were awesome. The baby gorillas were so playful! There was a huge crowd laughing and watching them play. The older ones were being lazy haha. More my style!

My favorites were the elephants and lions. I could've stood there and watched them all day. They didn't even do anything, really. Just walked around and stood there, but I find them so interesting. Unless you're at a zoo, how often do you come across elephants and lions?!

We saw tons of other animals, including ones I've never heard of, and I took tons of other pictures, but it's all too much to put on here! If you have facebook, I put all of my pictures up on there. Anyway, by the end of our trip to the zoo we were exhausted, but we decided to find some place nearby to have dinner.

So, we ended up at Dave 'n Buster's! We both have been inside, but neither of us had actually eaten there or played games. We ate dinner, and after a year of being together, Taylor has already gotten so used to the fact that he pays for dinner, so he grabbed the check right away. I tried to distract him by handing him my phone and letting him sit their confused for a second, and I took the check from him and slid my card inside. FINALLY! I paid for dinner!

Oh! I also finally started taking daily multivitamins. I bought Walgreens A thru Z multivitamins or something like that. Not sure what's supposed to happen now, but let's hope I become a little healthier!
97. Start taking multivitamins.

Anniversary Weekend <3

22. Buy the large Coach Zoe in black.
29. Go wine tasting in Temecula.

This weekend was mine and Taylor's 1 year anniversary. He got me the Coach purse I've been wanting! I knew he would get it for me, but I didn't want to get my hopes up until I actually saw it. I originally wanted the all black one, but I guess that one was sold out, and the only one left he could find is the gray and black one. I actually kind of like the gray and black better, because you can actually see the C's. The all black one hides them.
Anyhoo, my gift to him was taking him wine tasting in Temecula. If you know me at all, you know I really don't drink, and I definitely don't drink wine! It was a really cool experience none the less. We visited Callaway, Wilson Creek, Faulkner, and Maurice Car'rie. Callaway is owned by the same guy started Callaway golf clubs and Callaway Corvettes. Can you imagine how freakin' loaded that guy is?! Just at this first winery, I was already getting drunk! 6 tastings hits you pretty quickly.

Wilson Creek was my favorite. I decided I want to get married there haha. It's so beautiful! It's family owned and the couple that started it is a really cute, old couple. We had a catered lunch there and the couple talked to us about their history and the wine. The almond champagne was so tasty, but by that time I had so much wine, I couldn't drink anymore!

Next, we hit Faulkner. It was nice that it was up on a hilltop, but we weren't too impressed with that place. It's amazing how the first 2 wineries tired us out so much. By the time we got to this third one, we were already so tired and had a little bit of a wine headache, that we were ready to go home, but we still had one more winery to go!

Lastly, we visited Maurie Car'rie. I guess they're known for their garlic brie and sourdough bread. Taylor and I ordered some, and it was soooo good! The brie is baked into the middle of the bread. It's like a big ball of heart attack, but it's still delicious. :) After the tour was done and we were on our way home, I knocked out immediately and then went straight to bed for a few more hours. Next time we go on a wine tasting tour, we're either taking our first tastings slowly, or only visiting 2 wineries!

Newberry School of Beauty

The very first item on my list is in the works! I finally received my transcripts from Marinello and enrolled in Newberry last week. My expected graduation date is December 29, my birthday! I'm gonna work on graduating earlier though. Once you've been a student for a little while, they let you stay at school longer to get more hours. My schedule is Tuesday to Saturday 8:30-2:30. On the weekdays, I won't have any time to stay longer because I have to go straight to work, but on Saturdays I can stay til 5, so that will really help in getting done quicker!
Now, the next thing I have to worry is about is what I'm gonna do AFTER I finally complete my hours and get licensed. I don't wanna start working in a salon or spa until I decide where I'm gonna live. What I would really like to do, though, is work for myself. Start out working from home and going to clients homes, and then eventually open my own salon.
I moved back home to save some money and have the opportunity to go to Newberry, but after I'm done with school, I'm most likely going to want to move down to SD to be closer to Taylor. I guess the question is, when I would make the move. I just started my job at Anthem and I don't want to leave after only a few months. I like it there so far, and I get paid well.
Decisions, decisions! There is a lot to think about I suppose, but I have about 5 months to decide.

Fredricks Avenue & Revolutionary Road

56. Help Taylor fix up his new house.
So Taylor's house is basically all complete! Everything that's left to do is basically small decorating things around the house. It's amazing how different the house looks now from when he first bought it! Go back and see the "before" pictures and compare them to these final pictures. The living room is just missing a TV he still has yet to buy, and the mantle piece is going to be stained darker to match the floors.

30. Read a new book every month.
Secondly, I FINALLY finished Revolutionary Road! It took me almost 2 months to read it, because I thought it really dragged. The book didn't actually get interesting until the last 3 or 4 chapters. Now that I finally finished the book, I was ready to watch the movie. As always, the book was so much better than the movie. Both were equally depressing, but the movie lacked a lot of details and scenes the book had. Yet, I still have not decided if it's actually better to read the book before you watch the movie, or not.

Hair, Nails, Home Improvement! Oh my!

Last weekend was a busy, fun-filled weekend! I did 3 things on my list!:
58. Get my hair cut and colored by Daniel.
49. Get a mani/pedi at least once a month.
56. Help Taylor fix up his new house.

On Friday, I went to see Daniel at Dej, the salon he works at. I hadn't see him in years, so it was nice to catch up! I had him just trim my hair and touch up the color. I was sure to tell him how important it was that i kept my hair long like I like it. He trimmed it and did some other fancy stuff, so I was pretty scared watching him cut my hair. I kept seeing so much hair fall to the ground. I was scared it was going to be way too short when he finished. So when he was done, I stood up and looked at the back, and all the length was still there! I cannot tell you how relieved I was too see my hair was still long. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of my new cut, because I had to go straight to work from the salon.

Saturday morning, Jessica and I went to go get our nails done. I didn't get a mani/pedi, but I did get a full set with purple glitter tips. They look fun! Maybe next time we go to get our nails done, we'll go some place to get our toes done too. I've just been waiting for the weather to get better. With all these clouds everyday, I'm still wearing shoes, and there's no point in having fancy toes under closed shoes.

After getting my nails done, I drove down to Taylor's and waited for him to get off work. As soon as he was home, we were already working on his fireplace! I got to cut the slate with the power saw, and spackle them down! I felt very HGTV. All his walls, except for the kitchen, had been painted since the last time I saw the house. Everything is looking so good! The next time I see his house, his floors should be put in and then it'll really look like Taylor's house! On Sunday, we were going to go to the San Diego County Fair, but instead decided to go to Ikea and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. At Ikea, we got a table for against the wall in his living room and a vase to match one he already has. Then, we went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and some how spent $300!! We mainly just got things for the kitchen and both bathrooms. That stuff adds up really quickly apparently!
