Pizza Pizza!

67. Bake pizza from scratch.
84. Bake actual potato chips.

I crossed two things off my list with Taylor yesterday! We baked homemade pizza and
potato chips. Aside from our constant arguing about how to do it correctly, it was fun lol! Taylor was in charge of baking the potato chips. 4 potatoes and none of them came out! The first couple potatoes were sliced too thinly so they were burning super fast. The last potato was sliced well, but he refused to keep them in the oven long enough to actually get crispy! So 4 potatoes wasted.

I baked the pizza. It actually came out really well! I did realize I didn't put enough olive oil in the dough mix, but that wasn't until the dough was already sitting to rise. Oh well! It did taste kind of doughy, but it still came out well. I think if I practice more, I will eventually be able to make some super bomb pizza! I'm still happy how it turned out, and Taylor and his dad liked it even after doubting it would come out. So I win!

I also decided to practice baking cupcakes while I was waiting for Taylor to come home earlier that day. As you can see, they didn't come out very well. I filled the pan too high and the cupcakes ended up looking like muffins. I was also too impatient to wait for the cupcakes to completely cool before I frosted them, so that kind of made frosting difficult too. I need to practice more! I want to serve cupcakes at my BBQ next weekend, so hopefully I can get it right before then!

Taylor's new house.

56. Help Taylor fix up his new house.

Taylor's house officially closed escrow and he got his keys last Thursday, so everybody has been non-stop working on the house. The very first day, Taylor
cut down these 4 ugly hedges, and just that made the house look 10x better! Not too much has been done yet, but it's been exciting none the less. He already has a bunch of furniture, appliances, and kitchen stuff sitting in his garage waiting to be moved in. I believe his walls are being painted today, and hopefully his new floors come in soon. I'm anxious to see what everything will look like once it's all done. At the rate everything is going now, it should be done in no time!

Shopping!

I shopped today! The first time in MONTHS! Seriously, I haven't even had enough money to pay for my bills lately, but I took some of my tax return and actually bought something for myself; a shirt, dress, 2 rings, and a bracelet. It felt good to finally buy something just for fun.

So, that's number #96: Treat myself to one article of clothing or an accessory every month. Can't wait to keep this going every month! I'll take pictures of what I bought later and update this post to help fulfill my #95: Take pictures to document everything I've accomplished on this list.

Word of the Week #1

Extravagance
n. excessive wastefulness, often in reference to money; going out of the usual path.

Today, it begins.

Start date: Tuesday, May 12, 2009
End date: Tuesday, February 7, 2012

I was originally planning on starting the countdown on June 1st, but I decided to start today instead, because I did something on my list! I walked to the alterations shop down the street from my apartment, instead of driving (46. Bike or walk places less than 5 miles away, instead of driving). WOO HOO! Yay for my first thing crossed off the list. Although, this will definitely be an ongoing thing.

...and so it begins!

Inspired by my dear Anna, I've decided to start my "101 Things to Do in 1,001 Days" list. I was going to wait until I wasn't so stressed about life and money, but I decided this is something that will most likely help me destress and keep me productive! So, I've started writing my list today. As of right now, I'm stuck at 33 lol! I've got a longggg way to go, but I'm sure I'll easily finish the list within the next couple days. I know there are tons of things I have always wanted to do and see, but it's hard to think of everything when you're actually sitting with a pen and paper trying to write them all down. If any of you have any ideas of what you would like to see on this list, feel free to send me some suggestions. I'm not saying I will definitely put them on my list, but I'll consider them!
